Michael Fassbender plays multiple roles in the upcoming Assassin’s Creed, both onscreen and behind the scenes as it were. The Oscar-nominee is producing the video game adaptation and helped to recruit several of his Macbeth collaborators to work on the Ubisoft Motion Pictures project - including Marion Cotillard, his costar in the Shakespeare play adaptation, along with director Justin Kurzel, screenwriter Michael Lesslie, and cinematographer Adam Arkapaw. Based on their work together on Macbeth, it seems fair to assume the historical settings and action in Assassin’s Creed - which is set partly in 15th century Spain - are going to be quite impressively staged and executed on the big screen....

Apple’s only retail store location in Austria is preparing to reopen tomorrow, May 5, according to a local report by Heute. Like all Apple Stores outside of greater China, the Vienna location closed in mid-March in response to the coronavirus pandemic. In an interview last week, Tim Cook noted that stores in Austria and Australia would reopen within 1-2 weeks, but did not specify exact dates. Apple Kärntner Straße will be the first Apple Store to reopen in Europe and second globally following a single location in South Korea....

AT&T announced today that it’s increasing the data allotment on two of its wireless service plans. Starting on Sunday, November 2nd, Ma Bell will begin offering 3GB of data for $40 per month and 6GB of date for $70 a month. Also sweetening the pot, AT&T is tossing in unlimited talk, text and international messaging at no additional charge. In addition to these new options, the carrier is extending its double data promotion until November 15th for its Mobile Share Value plans ranging from 15GB to 50GB....

It’s taken a while for the new Apple Store design to reach Australia, but the company today opened the first of the refits in Melbourne. Movifone has gotten ahold of a new poster for the upcoming “Jobs” movie starring Ashton Kutcher (via: MacRumors). The poster is incredibly colorful and even somewhat psychedelic. Reviews are in for Assassin’s Creed Origins, the latest main installment in Ubisoft’s popular video game franchise, following the 2015 release of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate. Usually, games in the series release on an annual basis, but Ubisoft opted to spend 2016 working on Origins in response to fan complaints and disappointing sales for Syndicate. Set in ancient Egypt, Assassin’s Creed Origins explores the early days of the Brotherhood of the Assassins and the Templars....
