The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy stand side-by-side in new promo art for Avengers: Infinity War. Marvel Studios has been building towards Infinity War for years, setting the stage for the biggest Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover yet. Characters from all corners of the MCU will come together in the film to try and defeat the Mad Titan Thanos (Josh Brolin). The core characters that audiences have followed for a decade will be there, but so will newer superheroes, as well as those who hale from far, far away from earth.

Thanos’ attempt to collect all six of the the Infinity Stones will test every individual superhero in the MCU, as none of them are powerful enough to stop him on their own. That means they will have to unite to defeat the Mad Titan - and in doing so, that means that the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers will finally get to work together in Marvel’s film universe.

This dream is one step closer to becoming a reality, thanks to new Infinity War promo artwork that was shared by Women of DC & Marvel. The art appears to be featured on a shirt, and shows some of the biggest MCU stars standing together. With a lineup that includes Iron Man, Captain America, Star-Lord, Gamora, Black Panther, and more, fans can finally see a glimpse at what will soon transpire on the big screen.

Other than the characters previously mentioned, the art also includes Black Widow, Spider-Man, Vision, and Hulk. The decision to group these characters together doesn’t appear to be of significance, as the film’s trailer established there are multiple smaller teams taking action in Infinity War. Still, leaving off original Avengers like Thor and Hawkeye (who again is getting no love from the marketing) is an odd decision.

Fans of the MCU have been dreaming of these two superhero teams crossing over for years. The introduction of the Guardians of the Galaxy in 2014 kicked off these dreams, but the announcement of Infinity War made it seem possible. It’s been said that the Guardians will only serve as supporting characters in the film. This makes sense, given that this is still an Avengers movie, but hopefully they will still be important pieces to the puzzle. Just the tease of Thor meeting the Guardians in the Infinity War trailer was enough to generate excitement, so the heroes actually fighting together onscreen is sure to be a sight to behold.

The next major stage of the marketing campaign for Infinity War should be getting underway within a month or two, meaning there is still plenty of time for certain characters (like Hawkeye) to get their fair share of the spotlight. Likewise, this artwork is just the beginning when it comes to imagery and photos that show the Avengers and Guardians together.
