The CW has released synopses for upcoming episodes of Arrow and The Flash along with the season finale of Legends Tomorrow. The episode descriptions tease what director Kevin Smith has in store for Team Flash and a trip to the Old West in Legends. We also learn that Arrow is about to take Oliver to his “darkest place yet.”

The Flash took a break following its March 13 episode, “Run, Iris, Run”, and will return on April 10 with “Null and Annoyed,” directed by Kevin Smith, which will be his third episode on The Flash. Arrow went on hiatus after March 8 and will resume airing next Thursday, March 29. Legends of Tomorrow, which moved to Monday to share its time slot with Supergirl, will conclude its 18-episode third season on April 9.

The CW has released synopses for their Arrowverse shows airing during the second week of April. The week will kick off with the season 3 finale of Legends of Tomorrow, which will see the crew of the Waverider return to the Old West for a reunion with their occasional ally, Jonah Hex (Johnathon Schaech). On The Flash, Barry (Grant Gustin) will clash with the Elongated Man (Hartley Sawyer) over “what it means to be a hero.” We’ll also get to see the return of Danny Trejo’s Breacher. Meanwhile, Oliver’s problems on Arrow are about to get much worse. Oliver (Stephen Amell) will become so frustrated that he’ll begin lashing out at Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and his son, William (Jack Moore).

What the synopsis for the Legends finale doesn’t mention is that John Constantine (Matt Ryan) and Jax (Franz Drameh) will also be appearing in the episode. It’s unclear if the two will join them for their adventure in the Old West or will they’ll be a part of the effort to defeat Mallus once and for all.

Legends of Tomorrow “The Good, the Bad and the Cuddly” - The Legends’ plan to vanquish Mallus by using the totems doesn’t go as planned, forcing Rip (guest star Arthur Darvill) to improvise. The team finds itself regrouping in the Wild West where they run into their old pal Jonah Hex (guest star Johnathon Schaech). Sara (Caity Lotz) leaves Ray (Brandon Routh) in charge of watching Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough), while she comes up with a new plan. Meanwhile, Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) is determined to find a way to use the totems to destroy Mallus. Dominic Purcell, Tala Ashe, Keiynan Lonsdale, Nick Zano and Franz Drameh also star. Dermott Downs directed the episode written by Marc Guggenheim & Phil Klemmer (#318).

The Flash “Null and Annoyed” - Barry (Grant Gustin) and Ralph (guest star Hartley Sawyer) take different approaches to finding the remaining bus metas before DeVoe gets to them. However, Ralph’s cavalier attitude frustrates Barry and the two clash over what it means to be a hero. Meanwhile, Breacher (guest star Danny Trejo) returns to ask Cisco (Carlos Valdes) for a favor. Kevin Smith directed the episode written by Lauren Certo & Kristen Kim.

Arrow “Fundamentals” - In his darkest place yet, Oliver (Stephen Amell) wonders if he has failed at everything - being a father, a mayor and a hero. His frustration rising, Oliver lashes out at Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and William (guest star Jack Moore). A surprising visit from an old friend has Oliver questioning his next move. Ben Bray directed the episode written by Speed Weed & Emilio Ortega Aldrich.

As for The Flash, it appears that Ralph is still having problems fitting in with the team, despite recent episodes that have seen him slowly maturing and growing into his role as a member of Team Flash. It remains to be seen if his attitude will make him DeVoe’s next victim.

While Team Flash suffers from in-fighting between Barry and Ralph, the Queen family will be dealing with their own share of issues on Arrow. In a surprising turn for the character, Oliver’s self-doubts will bring him down so much that he’ll be clashing with his wife and son until he crosses paths with a “ghost from his past.” Fans will have to wait and see if this turns out to be an important character from a previous season.
