The CW has grown its DC Comics universe since the first show, Arrow, premiered in 2012. Oliver Queen’s series acted as a launchpad for a show following Barry Allen in The Flash. More recently, both shows worked to establish another spinoff in the form of time-traveling superhero adventure series Legends of Tomorrow. Then, though Supergirl premiered on CBS late in 2015, the show was welcomed to The CW earlier this fall for its second season.

Shortly after Supergirl’s change in network was announced, CW head Mark Pedowitz revealed plans for a massive superhero crossover that would span and include characters from all four DC Comics series. Later, it was reported the crossover would draw inspiration from the 1980s comic miniseries event, Invasion!, and include an alien race called the Dominators. Now, with the beginning of that superhero crossover less than two weeks away, we’ve received new story details thanks to the episodes’ official synopses.

The CW has released the synopses for the episodes included in the DC TV crossover, starting with the November 28th episode of Supergirl titled ‘Medusa’. Take a look at the synopsis:

A NIGHT OF CONFESSIONS; THE EPIC SUPERHERO CROSSOVER KICKS OFF TONIGHT — Eliza (guest star Helen Slater) comes to town to celebrate Thanksgiving with her daughters. Alex (Chyler Leigh) decides it’s time to come out to her mother; Kara (Melisa Benoist) is shocked when Eliza suggests Mon-El (Chris Wood) has feelings for her, and Winn (Jeremy Jordan) and James (Mehcad Brooks) consider telling Kara the truth about the Guardian. Meanwhile, CADMUS unleashes a virus that instantly kills any alien in the vicinity so Kara enlists an unexpected ally – Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath). The epic superhero crossover kicks off tonight when Barry Allen (guest star Grant Gustin) and Cisco Ramon (guest star Carlos Valdes) seek Kara’s help with an alien invasion on their Earth.

The crossover continues on Tuesday November 29th with The Flash’s episode titled ‘Invasion!’, take a look at the synopsis:

Arrow continues to develop the crossover storyline – and celebrates its 100th episode – on Wednesday November 30th in ‘Invasion!’, take a look at the synopsis:

IT’S HEROES VS. ALIENS IN THIS EPIC CROSSOVER EVENT — When aliens called the Dominators attack Central City, Barry (Grant Gustin) speeds over to Star City to ask the Green Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell) for help in stopping them. Realizing the battle against the Dominators is bigger than they thought, they track down the Legends of Tomorrow, and Barry and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) create a breach to bring back a secret weapon – Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist). Once all of the super friends are assembled, they come up with a plan to attack but a shocking secret related to Flashpoint is revealed and suddenly no one is sure who they can trust. Meanwhile, Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) wants to join the battle against the aliens but Iris (Candice Patton) tells him he’s not ready.

Finally, the crossover concludes on Legends of Tomorrow’s December 1st episode, also titled ‘Invasion!’, take a look at the synopsis:

ARROW CELEBRATES 100 EPISODES; THE EPIC SUPERHERO CROSSOVER CONTINUES — Oliver (Stephen Amell) wakes up to a life where he never got on The Queen’s Gambit. Robert (guest star Jamey Sheridan) and Moira Queen (guest star Susanna Thompson) are alive and well. Laurel (guest star Katie Cassidy) is his loving fiancée and their wedding is imminent. Everything seems perfect, but Oliver starts to notice small imperfections that make him question this new reality. Meanwhile, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) and the recruits take on a new threat with help from The Flash (guest star Grant Gustin) and Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist).

ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL IN THIS CROSSOVER OF SUPERHEROS — After learning the Dominators’ plan for the world, the Legends must work together with The Flash (guest star Grant Gustin), Supergirl (guest star Melissa Benoist) and Green Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell) to kill them once and for all. Meanwhile, Stein (Victor Garber) figures out, with the help of others, how the team can terminate the Dominators, but is distracted by the aberration he realizes he created in 1987.

As evidenced by these synopses, all four shows will continue to develop the storylines established in their respective seasons – with Supergirl especially remaining separate thanks to taking place on a different Earth than the other three series. For any viewers who aren’t following all four shows, this should help the episodes continue to make sense within each individual season, even as characters from elsewhere in the Arrowverse make crossover appearances.

That said, it’s additionally clear The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow will primarily focus on the Dominators as the main antagonist across their respective episodes during the crossover week. In the original Invasion! storyline, the Dominators lead an alliance of aliens that hoped to harness the power of Earth’s metahumans in order to create their own superpowered army. It’s unclear how much of the storyline the Arrowverse shows adapt, but the crossover seems to at least be including the broad strokes of the comic event.

Of course, how the crossover comes together and how well it’s received by fans and critics alike remains to be seen. Past crossovers, like the one between The Flash and Supergirl, earned plenty of praise from fans, even as the story and villains weren’t quite as well-received. Still, no matter the storyline, since this upcoming crossover will include characters from four DC Comics shows, it will undoubtedly provide fans with even more fun superhero action.
