AT&T and IBM launched the collaboration in late 2020 and have since opened up co-innovation sites at two other locations. IBM Yorktown, the headquarters for IBM Research, is now enabled with AT&T 5G, enabling customers to work with researchers, designers and consultants from both companies. AT&T and IBM are also co-innovating at the AT&T 5G Innovation Studio in Plano, Texas to apply AI and machine learning for network insights. “One of the challenges that enterprises have to face when you think about 5G, cloud and edge computing is that it’s accelerating pretty fast,” William Stovall, AT&T’s VP of mobility & IoT, said to ZDNet....

Apple has announced that it has begun construction of its new Austin, Texas, campus, on the day that President Trump is due to tour the Mac Pro production line a short distance away. The current Mac Pro facility measures 244,000 square feet and employs around 500 people, while the new campus will be very much larger… Apple says the new facility will also have substantial capacity for further expansion. Some local residents had been upset that Apple was chopping down trees to make room for the Austin, Texas, campus....

Netflix dropped the official trailer for the second half of Arrested Development’s fifth season. After years of rumors about the show being adapted into a movie after it was canceled in 2003, it was finally resurrected for a fourth season by Netflix in 2013. The fifth season was then split, with 8 episodes released last May, and another 8 set to drop in mid-March. The first official images and plot details revealed by Netflix earlier this month set up some important clues about what fans of the Bluth family can expect to see in their next round of cringeworthy mishaps....

Epic Games has announced that it has acquired artist portfolio and sales site ArtStation, for an undisclosed fee. In a move likely designed to strengthen its antitrust case against Apple, Epic has told artists that it is reducing its standard commission from 30% to 12%. The two companies made a joint announcement. Epic went into more detail on the commissions structure in a separate blog post. Today we are excited to announce that ArtStation is joining the Epic Games family....

Facebook has begun using artificial intelligence to identify those who may be at risk of committing suicide, reports the BBC. The company has long offered a reporting tool for those concerned that posts by a Facebook friend may indicate suicidal thoughts, and it is these reports that have been used to teach the AI system to detect worrying posts. The social network has developed algorithms that spot warning signs in users’ posts and the comments their friends leave in response....

Starting tomorrow, AT&T will be revamping its Mobile Share Value plans by adjusting data tiers and plan prices for new and current subscribers. At the low end, AT&T is consolidating a few data tiers into just two options with different price points. Meanwhile, AT&T’s double digit data tiers are also being reduced, and some subscribers can potentially end up with more data at no extra cost per month or get a better rate on even higher data tiers....

Australia Post has been swamped with work as Victorians do more online shopping in lockdown than usual, and COVID-19 restrictions impact the delivery process. On Sunday morning, a photo taken inside Australia Post’s Sunshine distribution warehouse revealed the high amount of deliveries the post service is dealing with. Michelle Skehan, Australia Post’s General Manager of Corporate Affairs, admitted on 3AW today that the photo was “a little bit terrifying.” Ms Skehan claimed that online shopping was “booming” in Victoria, up by an estimated 30%, and that Australia Post was having a more challenging time dealing with the pandemic this time than during prior lockdowns....

With 2016 now over, we can say with certainty that it was a major year for DC Comics fans, as the DCEU finally got rolling with two major theatrical releases. Although the DCEU technically began in 2013 with Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, it took the universe’s follow-up entries for many fans to feel as though it was truly taking shape - with multiple characters joining Henry Cavill in Batman V Superman, and seeing a different side of the DC world brought to life in Suicide Squad....

The service has seen an increase lately in bookings being used for parties and other unwanted activities. This previously led to Airbnb looking at ways to combat the problem, including personality assessments. For many, Airbnb has become the default option when looking for a place to stay. More recently, there has been an increase in news reports of how the room-booking service is being used by some as more than just a bed for the night....

According to a posting on the Apple Developer boards this afternoon, Apple will be resetting iCloud Backup data on Thursday, September 22nd. We believe Apple is performing this reset for the release of iOS 5 GM, which will be released around the same time of the reset. iOS 5 GM will be the last release before iOS 5’s official debut in early October, like we previously reported. This reset doesn’t include data from mail, contacts, calendars, reminders, or bookmarks....

The women of Team Arrow took center-stage in Arrow season 7, episode 18, “Lost Canary”. The story of Arrow season 7 has centered around strong women in both its storylines, with an entire team of Canaries protecting the Star City of 2040 and the women of Team Arrow finding power in new roles as Dinah Drake became Captain of the SCPD and Felicity Smoak became a mother. The present day storyline saw a manhunt begin for Black Siren, who had been accused of murder and returned to her wicked ways and teaming with a terrorist known as the Shadow Thief, after several months posing as Laurel Lance and serving as Star City’s District Attorney....

Arrow is on hiatus for almost a month, which will give the series writers and producers plenty of time to whet fans’ appetites with what’s to come when the team returns at the end of April. The show returns with an episode titled ‘Dangerous Liasons’, which is set to pit Oliver and Felicity against each other, as she attempts to use Helix to take care of Prometheus once and for all....

The FDA has so far licensed it to monitor the condition of existing COVID-19 patients. Australians have reported being swamp scam with calls that appear to come from a legitimate agency or even from their phone number. It’s known as “call spoofing,” and it’s the latest tactic cybercriminals use to persuade mobile phone users to accept a call. According to Telstra, call spoofing has increased considerably during the pandemic, as Australians spend more time on their phones and more time looking for official communication from their service providers....
