And goes on to present conflicting views from tech industry figures … It cites some of Apple’s design wins and losses over the years, arguing that neither are new phenomenon, As examples of design failures under Steve Jobs’ watch, the piece lists the iMac’s ‘hockey puck’ mouse, the iPod Hi-Fi and original Apple TV....

Starz has officially canceled Ash vs. Evil Dead, just as the series was gearing up for the season 3 finale. There has been growing concern over the future of the series since the start of the new season, and it seems rumors of the show’s demise have proven to be true. That puts a lot of pressure on the upcoming finale to not only bring the current storyline of Ash (Bruce Campbell) and his heretofore unknown daughter Brandy (Arielle Carver-O’Neill) to a close, but it will also have to satisfy fans of the show, and the films it was spun off from, with what will serve as the conclusion to the series as well....

I had a lot of good and not so good times with XP. When it first came out I had horrendous driver issues and not to mention multiple Blue Screen’s of Death. Service Pack 1 addressed some of the issues, but there were still a lot of holes and vulnerabilities. Service Pack 2 did a good job of shoring things up at the time, however at that point I had already switched my browser to Firefox…I had actually switched to it before it even reached version 1....

Earlier today, YouTube’s foray into the streaming cable bundle market was officially unveiled earlier today, offering the “big four” networks and unlimited DVR at $35 per month. YouTube’s solution, of course is meant to be a competitor to existing services like DirecTV Now. Just prior to the announcement of YouTube TV, though, AT&T executive Tony Goncalves talked the future of DirecTV Now in an interview with The Information. Goncalves explained in the interview that the primary focus for the service in 2017 is improving stability....

Prior to that, Germany had denied a newspaper report it would begin implementing a 3% tech tax. During that ordeal, Le Maire continued to pressure Germany into legislating a tax, saying: Today, Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said the country will be following suit, and no longer wait for an EU-wide agreement. If we are incapable of re-establishing a fair tax system, of taxing the digital giants, we will pay for it at the ballot box....

As the second half of Arrow season 5 gets rolling, fans are likely wondering about new and returning faces that we might see. Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) has already made a reappearance in the midseason premiere, and although it was quickly learned that this was actually Earth-2’s Black Siren, it appears another Black Canary is on the way. We have also had our first glimpse of Talia Al Ghul (Lexa Doig), who will be playing a part in this season’s flashbacks....

Bachelor in Paradise alumni Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon finally wed, and it was a Bachelor Nation reunion. There were plenty of members of Bachelor Nation there to celebrate the union of one of their own. Ashley was a contestant on season 19 of The Bachelor, and Jared was a contestant on the 11th season of The Bachelorette. The two contestants didn’t find love and were immediately whisked away to Bachelor in Paradise season 2....

Update: AT&T has now publicly announced the change. Additional information has been added below. The price jump won’t be huge—the almost-too-good-to-be-true rate of $30 will increase to just $35—but it does open the door to further tinkering later down the line, which may make some customers a little uneasy. The change will go into effect in February 2016. As is currently the case, talk and text costs will be separate from the data fee....

Arrow is staging a Birds of Prey episode featuring Laurel Lance (aka The Black Siren). The Black Siren is the second character that series regular Katie Cassidy has played on The CW superhero series, Oliver Queen’s first love and the very first Black Canary (second if you count her sister Sara Lance). However, Laurel was killed off in Arrow’s fourth season, making way for her quasi-evil counterpart from Earth-2 to enter the Arrowverse starting with The Flash’s second season....

A Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer, Asus already confirmed the product launch event date and place for its upcoming ZenFone Max Pro M2, December 11 in Indonesia. The ZenFone Max Pro M2 key specs already leaked on the internet. AT&T Mobility CEO Ralph de la Vega strongly implied today that the carrier’s exclusive deal to sell the iPhone in the U.S. is ending, although he gave no details in a conference call with analysts…“We have a legacy of having a great portfolio…that will continue after the iPhone is no longer exclusive to us,” de la Vega said. “We think we will continue after the iPhone…to drive [results]….” AT&T announced earlier today that iPhones were 75% of their new Smartphone activations and brought 40% of their customers from other carriers so losing exclusivity might not be in their best interests....

As part of Disney’s continued campaign to have Marvel dominate the world, an Australian sports arena is set to be renamed Marvel Stadium. Disney is of course basically the biggest entertainment company in the world at this point, being behind not only Marvel Studios’ blockbusting MCU franchise, but also the Star Wars juggernaut, and that’s not to mention all the huge films Disney makes that aren’t from either of those universes....
